Loss Adjustment is darkly satirical exploration of Mexico’s societal underbelly. The film follows Pedro, a claims adjuster disillusioned by corruption and catastrophe, who forms an unlikely friendship with artist and filmmaker Miguel Calderón, seeking solace in the art world—only to find it equally deceptive. With sharp social critique and Calderón’s signature humor, the film confronts uncomfortable truths about power, exploitation, and identity. Calderón says, “Loss Adjustment explores the intersection of human tragedy and contemporary art, revealing their shared complexity. The film asks: Can we truly escape the systems that bind us, or do we merely replace one deception with another?”
